Djed Spence is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur for Inter after the two clubs reached an agreement over the transfer of the 26-year-old England defender.
The deal is worth €31.5m, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who reported the development on his social media platforms. Spence has also agreed personal terms with the Milan club, meaning the main elements of the move are now in place.
The transfer has yet to be formally completed, with the clubs still required to finish the remaining documentation before Spence can officially become an Inter player. However, an agreement has been reached between Tottenham and Inter, while the defender has given his approval to the move.
Spence joined the London club in the summer of 2022 and has since made 85 appearances for Tottenham. During that time, he has scored two goals and provided three assists.
His departure would bring an end to his spell with Tottenham after four years at the club. The defender’s current market value is estimated at €40m, which is higher than the agreed transfer fee of €31.5m.
Inter’s agreement with Tottenham represents a significant step towards completing the move, with only the final formalities still to be addressed. Spence’s own decision to accept the transfer means all parties are aligned on the proposed switch from north London to Milan.
The reported fee and the completion of the outstanding paperwork are now the remaining details before the deal can be officially confirmed. Until that process is finished, Spence remains a Tottenham player, but the agreement indicates that his next club is expected to be Inter.
