Como step up Trevoh Chalobah pursuit with improved €30m Chelsea bid

Como have submitted an increased offer worth up to €30m to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as they intensify efforts to complete a deal in the current transfer window.

The Serie A club have returned to Chelsea with a new proposal that includes a fixed fee of €25m plus a further €5m in bonuses, according to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano. Those add-ons are described as easily achievable, effectively bringing the total value of the package close to €30m.

Negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, with the latest bid believed to have narrowed the gap between Chelsea’s valuation and Como’s position, raising the prospect of an agreement being struck in the coming days.

Chalobah open to Serie A move

Chalobah is understood to be positive about the possibility of joining Como and is keen on testing himself in Serie A.

The 27-year-old centre-back, who has Sierra Leonean roots, is described as enthusiastic about the new challenge, a stance which could help smooth the talks between the two clubs as they work towards a potential deal.

Chalobah’s willingness to move is viewed as an important factor as Como look to persuade Chelsea to sanction his departure before the end of the summer window.

Contract situation and valuation

Chalobah remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 30 June 2028, giving Chelsea a strong negotiating position over any transfer fee.

The defender currently carries an estimated market value of €40m on Transfermarkt, a figure that sits above Como’s latest offer but underlines why Chelsea may be holding out for more favourable terms.

With discussions still active and both parties edging closer on price, the coming days are expected to be decisive in determining whether Chalobah swaps the Premier League for Serie A and becomes the latest high-profile addition to Como’s squad.
