Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro has completed a move to Kuwaiti Premier League side Al-Fahaheel SC after an impressive season with Saudi Arabian club Al-Adalah.
The 33-year-old striker leaves Saudi Arabia after a prolific campaign in the First Division, where he scored 13 goals and provided two assists in 28 appearances.
His performances attracted interest from elsewhere in the region, with Al-Fahaheel securing his signature as they seek to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The move marks another chapter in Chivaviro’s career in the Middle East, with the experienced forward now set to test himself in Kuwait’s top flight.
Al-Fahaheel finished sixth in the 18-team Kuwaiti Premier League last season, narrowly missing out on qualification for both the AFC Champions League Two and the AFC Challenge League.
The club have moved to bolster their attacking options in an effort to improve on that finish, identifying Chivaviro as a player capable of adding goals and experience to the squad.
Known for his physical presence and finishing ability, the South African is expected to lead the club’s frontline as they target a stronger campaign.
Chivaviro heads to Kuwait on the back of one of the most productive seasons of his career, having established himself as one of Al-Adalah’s key attacking players.
Before moving to Saudi Arabia, he played in South Africa for Marumo Gallants and Kaizer Chiefs, building a reputation as a powerful centre-forward.
Now, the Limpopo-born striker will look to carry his goalscoring form into Kuwaiti football as he begins a new challenge with Al-Fahaheel.
The club will hope his arrival provides the cutting edge needed to compete higher up the table and challenge for places in continental competition.
For Chivaviro, the transfer offers another opportunity to build on the success he enjoyed in Saudi Arabia and make an immediate impact with his new team.
