Charlotte FC have confirmed the promotion of Benin international forward Rodolfo Aloko to their first team following an impressive run of form in the club’s development system.
The 19-year-old has signed a long-term contract running until June 30, 2030, with an additional option for the 2030–2031 season.
As part of the agreement, Aloko will occupy a U22 Initiative roster slot, underlining the club’s commitment to developing young talent within Major League Soccer structures.
Aloko’s promotion comes after a standout spell with Crown Legacy FC, Charlotte’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, where he has delivered eye-catching performances.
He has scored six goals and provided two assists in just a handful of matches this season, form that has quickly accelerated his rise into senior football.
His performances have placed him among the most in-form young players in the competition, and he was recognised for his impact by being named MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Month for March.
That award further highlighted his growing reputation within the league’s development pathway.
The forward’s rapid progress is not limited to club football. Aloko has also established himself on the international stage with Benin, earning his first senior cap in June 2025.
Since then, he has accumulated seven appearances for the national team, including participation at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
At that tournament, Aloko featured in four matches as Benin reached the Round of 16, gaining valuable experience on one of the continent’s biggest stages.
His involvement in international competition at such a young age has been seen as a key part of his development.
Charlotte FC’s decision to integrate him into the first team reflects both his current form and long-term potential.
