Carragher condemns Fernandes comments after Manchester United’s defeat by Como

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has described Bruno Fernandes’ criticism of Manchester United manager Michael Carrick as a disgrace after the club’s 4-1 Champions League defeat by Como.

Fernandes said after the match that Carrick had instructed Manchester United to reduce their pressing during the game, a decision the Portugal international believed contributed to the loss.

Carragher reacted to those comments by condemning Fernandes’ remarks and saying: “He became the best thanks to Carrick.”

Manchester United were beaten away from home by Como, with Fernandes starting the match before being replaced in the 67th minute. Joshua Zirkzee came on in his place and scored Manchester United’s only goal in added time.
