Cameroon international Duplexe Tchamba is reportedly preparing to leave Brazilian club Clube do Remo during the winter transfer window as the team faces the threat of relegation to Série B.
The 28-year-old centre-back is said to be unwilling to remain at the club if they drop out of Brazil’s top flight, despite establishing himself as an important member of the squad since arriving from Portuguese side Casa Pia.
Several clubs are reportedly monitoring the defender’s situation, with Brazilian top-flight side Bragantino among those interested.
Portugal is also a possible destination, offering Tchamba an opportunity to return to a league he already knows.
Tchamba’s potential departure comes after a difficult campaign for Remo, whose struggles in the league have overshadowed the defender’s individual performances. A
The club’s position in the standings has raised serious concerns about its prospects of avoiding relegation.
The Cameroonian has made 20 appearances in Remo’s blue shirt and has been one of the team’s more consistent performers.
His defensive strength and leadership have helped him establish himself as a key figure, even as the club has struggled to achieve the desired results.
However, his personal contribution has not been enough to change the team’s overall fortunes.
With relegation becoming an increasing concern, a move away from Remo is reportedly being considered as the defender looks for a more competitive environment.
Tchamba joined the Brazilian side from Casa Pia in Portugal, following a career that also included a spell at Danish club Sonderjyske. He developed his footballing foundations at TAD Sport Academy before moving into professional football.
His experience across different leagues could make him an attractive option for clubs seeking an established central defender. At 28,
he combines experience with familiarity with European and South American football, potentially giving interested teams a dependable defensive option.
Bragantino are among the Brazilian clubs reportedly showing interest in the Cameroonian, while enquiries and offers from Portugal have also emerged.
A return to Europe could appeal to the player because of his previous experience in Portuguese football, although no final destination has been confirmed.
