Cameroon midfielder Jessie Guera Djou is without a club after leaving Moldovan champions Petrocub on 31 July 2026.
The 29-year-old defensive midfielder’s departure follows a season in which he helped Petrocub win the Moldavian championship. It was the second time Djou had won the title, having also lifted it with FC Sheriff Tiraspol in the 2016-17 campaign.
Djou made six appearances for Petrocub in the opening stages of the 2026-27 season, featuring four times in the Super Liga and twice in the UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds. He also played in both of the club’s Champions League qualifying matches.
The midfielder started both of Petrocub’s Conference League qualifying fixtures and played 97% of the available minutes in that competition. He completed all of the club’s Champions League qualifying minutes, while also receiving one yellow card. Djou did not score or provide an assist in those matches.
His final spell at Petrocub began in February 2025, when he joined from fellow Moldovan side Zimbru Chisinau on a free transfer. He had made his way to Zimbru in July 2023 after a period without a club.
Djou previously represented Shkendija, NK Varazdin and Accra Lions, while also spending time with the reserve side of Monaco and Sparta Prague. His career has included loan spells with FC Sheriff and Petrocub, giving him experience across clubs in Moldova, North Macedonia, Croatia, Ghana and the Czech Republic.
A right-footed player who stands 1.85 metres tall, Djou has operated primarily in defensive midfield. His market value is listed at €250,000, while his highest recorded value was €450,000.
The move ends his latest association with Petrocub, where he added another Moldavian championship medal to his honours. Djou left the club on 31 July and is now unattached.
