The 16 teams set to contest the group stage of the 2026-27 CAF Confederation Cup are emerging ahead of the draw on 28 October, with established African clubs including Al Ahly, USM Alger, Raja Casablanca and AS FAR among those involved.
Egypt will be represented by Al Ahly, while Algeria has secured one place through USM Alger. The country could also have a second representative, with CR Belouizdad still involved in a qualifying tie against either AS Douanes or Hafia FC, depending on the outcome of that confrontation.
Morocco will have two clubs in the competition, with Raja Casablanca and AS FAR both included in the line-up. Tunisia’s representative will be CS Sfaxien, while Tanzania will be represented by Azam FC and Singida Black Stars.
The remaining places are spread across several countries with clubs seeking to make an impact in this season’s continental campaign.
Libya will send Al Ahli Tripoli, Mozambique will be represented by Black Bulls and Mali by Real Bamako. AS Maniema Union will carry the hopes of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Durban City will represent South Africa, Red Arrows will compete for Zambia and Angola’s entrant will be Primeiro de Agosto. Togo will also be involved through ASKO.
The teams will discover their group-stage opponents at the draw on 28 October. The group composition will establish the main match-ups and offer a clearer indication of each club’s prospects in the competition.
