CAF Champions League final to reach global audience across major networks

The TotalEnergies CAF Champions League final between Mamelodi Sundowns and AS FAR is set for a massive global audience, with broadcasters across multiple continents confirmed to air the 2025/26 decider live.

CAF announced that major international networks including beIN Sports, CANAL+, DAZN, SuperSport and the United Kingdom’s Channel 4 will broadcast the final, underlining the growing international profile of African club football.

Several African broadcasters  among them SABC, Azam Media and Morocco’s SNRT will also televise the showpiece event.

The first leg of the final will take place on Sunday, 17 May 2026 at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa, kicking off at 16:00 local time (14:00 GMT).

The return leg is scheduled for 24 May in Rabat, Morocco, with kick-off set for 19:00 GMT.

The final brings together two of the continent’s strongest clubs in what promises to be a highly anticipated clash between South African and Moroccan football powerhouses.

Mamelodi Sundowns are chasing another continental crown as they continue their rise among Africa’s elite clubs, while AS FAR are aiming to add a second CAF Champions League title to their history.

CAF said the extensive international coverage reflects the rapidly growing global appeal of African football and the increasing commercial value of the continent’s premier club competition.

The governing body expects the final to attract viewers across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and other global markets.

The stakes are also historic financially.

CAF has confirmed that the winners of the competition will receive a record prize money payout of USD 6 million, the largest ever awarded in African club football.

The increased prize fund forms part of CAF’s broader strategy to strengthen the commercial growth and international visibility of African competitions in recent years.

With global television coverage expanding and financial rewards reaching unprecedented levels, the 2025/26 CAF Champions League final represents another significant moment in the evolution of African club football.
