Brighton & Hove Albion are optimistic about retaining Yankuba Minteh, with no immediate indication that an agreement has been reached for Liverpool to sign the winger, according to Sky Germany.
Liverpool remain very interested in Minteh, but discussions have not yet produced a deal. The current lack of an agreement has increased Brighton’s confidence that the 22-year-old will stay at the club.
Minteh’s fitness is also an important factor in the situation. Sky Germany previously reported that the winger could require another two to three months to make a full recovery from his injury and return to match fitness.
That expected timetable means Minteh is not yet ready to return to competitive action. His recovery will therefore remain a significant part of the background to any potential move, with the player still working towards regaining full fitness.
Liverpool’s interest is understood to be linked to Minteh’s versatility and his ability to operate from the right wing despite being left-footed. That profile is similar to Mohamed Salah’s role, making the Brighton player an attractive option for Liverpool.
However, there is currently no agreement between Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion. Sky Germany’s report suggests Brighton are presently hopeful of keeping Minteh, while Liverpool’s interest remains active.
The situation leaves the winger’s future unresolved. Brighton have not reached a deal to sell him, and Liverpool have not completed an agreement to bring him to the club. For now, Minteh remains the subject of interest rather than a confirmed Liverpool signing.
Minteh’s projected recovery period adds a further element to the circumstances surrounding any possible transfer. Although Liverpool continue to value his qualities, the 22-year-old’s return to full match fitness has not yet been completed.
The main attraction for Liverpool is his capacity to play on the right side of attack while operating as a left-footed winger. That combination has drawn comparisons with Salah, who also plays from the right wing.
For Brighton, the absence of an immediate agreement provides reason for optimism. The club currently believes Minteh could remain at Brighton & Hove Albion, although Liverpool’s continued interest means the matter is not settled.
According to Sky Germany, there are no immediate signs that the two clubs are close to reaching an agreement. Minteh’s recovery and Liverpool’s interest will continue to shape the situation, but Brighton are currently hopeful that the winger will stay.
