Brentford are reportedly considering a move for Senegal international Pape Matar Sarr as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
According to reports, Bees manager Keith Andrews is a strong admirer of the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, whose future has come under increasing scrutiny following Spurs’ summer recruitment.
Competition growing at Tottenham
Sarr has enjoyed four seasons in north London, developing into a dynamic box-to-box midfielder with the ability to influence matches at both ends of the pitch.
However, the arrivals of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali have significantly increased competition in Tottenham’s midfield, potentially limiting the Senegal international’s opportunities for regular first-team football under Roberto De Zerbi.
The increased competition could prompt Sarr to consider his options, while Tottenham may be open to a sale as they look to balance their squad after a busy transfer window.
