Barcelona weighing €60m Jules Kounde sale as Tottenham emerge as leading suitor

Barcelona are prepared to listen to offers for Jules Kounde this summer, with Tottenham currently showing the strongest interest in the France international defender.

The Catalan club have opened the door to selling several first-team players in the upcoming transfer window as they look to ease financial pressures, and Kounde is among those who could be allowed to leave – but only for a fee of at least €60m.

Barcelona have placed the 25-year-old on a list of saleable assets and, while they are not actively pushing him out, they have made it clear internally that they will not consider bids below their valuation.

Over recent weeks, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Liverpool have all contacted Barcelona to ask about Kounde’s situation and the conditions of a potential deal.

However, Tottenham are understood to be the club most seriously exploring a move, viewing Kounde as a priority target as they look to reinforce their defence ahead of next season.

Barcelona, who signed Kounde from Sevilla in 2022, are ready to assess any formal proposals that match their asking price, but his future remains unresolved and no agreement is yet in place with any club.

The decision now rests largely with Kounde, who faces a key moment in his career as he weighs up whether to stay and fight for his place at Barcelona or pursue a new challenge in the Premier League or Bundesliga.
