Brentford are weighing up a move for Senegal left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf from West Ham United as they look to strengthen at full-back for the new Premier League season.
The 21-year-old, who joined West Ham from Slavia Prague in July 2025, is under contract at the London Stadium until June 2030 but has attracted attention after establishing himself as a regular starter in England. Diouf, born in Ziguinchor and a left-footed defender, featured 32 times in the Premier League last season, registering five assists and playing more than 2,700 minutes.
West Ham’s relegation from the top flight in 2025-26 has intensified speculation over the futures of several key players, with Diouf among those drawing interest from Premier League clubs. Brentford are understood to be monitoring whether a deal could be structured around his current valuation of about €28m.
Diouf’s progress has been rapid since leaving the Academy Mawade Wade for Tromsø before a move to Slavia Prague, where he became a Czech champion in 2024-25. West Ham then paid a fee in the region of €22m to bring him to England, viewing him as a long-term option at left-back.
The defender also featured at the 2026 World Cup, making three appearances for Senegal, adding to his exposure on the international stage. Despite the growing interest, West Ham are under no contractual pressure to sell, with Diouf tied to the club for another four years.
