Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal have announced the signing of Netherlands winger Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United, making the 24-year-old their sixth addition of the current summer transfer window.
The Riyadh club confirmed in a statement on their official channels that Summerville has agreed a four-year contract running until 2030, after completing the formalities at the team’s pre-season training camp in Austria on Friday.
Al Hilal, known as “Al Zaeem”, said the player joined up with his new team-mates at the camp as preparations intensify for the new campaign.
The club did not disclose the transfer fee, but previous media reports have suggested the deal could be worth up to €80m. If confirmed, that figure would make Summerville the second most expensive signing in the history of the Saudi Pro League.
Hilal also revealed that club owner Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has covered the full cost of the transfer, publicly expressing their gratitude for his financial backing of the move.
World Cup breakthrough
Summerville’s profile rose significantly during the 2026 World Cup, where he impressed for the Netherlands despite not starting every match.
The winger scored two goals and provided two assists at the tournament, emerging as one of the standout attacking options for the Dutch national side, widely known as “Oranje” or “the Flying Dutchmen”.
His World Cup displays helped underline his reputation as a versatile forward capable of impacting games at the highest level, adding further weight to Al Hilal’s push to secure his signature this summer.
Impact at West Ham
Away from international duty, Summerville delivered a strong campaign with West Ham last season.
He made 34 appearances for the Premier League club across all competitions, scoring seven goals and contributing five assists, underlining his ability to both create and finish chances from wide areas.
Those performances made him one of West Ham’s key attacking outlets and attracted attention from clubs looking for a dynamic forward option.
Tactical versatility for Al Hilal
Summerville is predominantly deployed on the left wing, where he is most effective, but he is also comfortable operating on the right flank.
In addition, he can be used as a central striker or in a playmaking role behind the forwards, although he has featured less frequently in those positions.
That flexibility is expected to offer Al Hilal additional options in the final third as they strengthen their squad for domestic and continental challenges in the coming season.
