Botswana will host the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifier from August 20 to 29, with the regional tournament set to take place in Gaborone.
The competition will determine the COSAFA representative at this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League finals.
Draw set for July 21
The official draw for the tournament will be held on Tuesday, July 21, when participating clubs will discover their group-stage opponents.
However, the final list of competing teams will only be confirmed after Wednesday, July 15, which is CAF’s deadline for Member Associations to submit clubs’ licensing documentation in line with the governing body’s Club Licensing Regulations.
Continental place at stake
The winner of the COSAFA Qualifier will secure a place at the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League finals, which are scheduled to take place later this year.
The tournament continues to serve as the pathway for clubs from the COSAFA region to qualify for Africa’s premier women’s club competition.
Gaborone United aim to defend title
Gaborone United Women’s FC will enter the tournament as the defending COSAFA champions after lifting the regional title in 2025.
The Botswana champions will be aiming to retain their crown on home soil and secure another appearance at the CAF Women’s Champions League finals.
