Ghanaian club Hearts of Oak have moved to dismiss reports surrounding the future of goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, insisting that claims about his transfer valuation are inaccurate.
The Accra-based side issued a statement on 15 July 2026 rejecting what they described as false reports circulating in the media and on social media regarding a possible move for the Black Stars goalkeeper.
The club said no official price had been placed on Asare and warned that any figures being discussed publicly were based on speculation rather than confirmed information.
“These reports are false and without factual basis,” the statement read. “Accra Hearts of Oak has not placed any valuation on Benjamin Asare.”
The clarification comes after Asare attracted widespread attention following his performances for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The goalkeeper played a key role for the Black Stars during the tournament, with his displays reportedly drawing interest from a number of clubs.
However, Hearts of Oak stressed that no formal valuation had been set for the player and that the club had not authorised any person or organisation to discuss a transfer fee or asking price on its behalf.
The club, one of Ghana’s most recognised football institutions, said it remained proud of Asare’s achievements and acknowledged the growing attention surrounding the goalkeeper after his international performances.
Despite the increased interest, Hearts said they would only consider proposals that benefit both the player and the club.
The statement explained that while the club remained open to receiving genuine offers, no official negotiations had taken place and no transfer discussions had been communicated.
Hearts also urged caution over reports suggesting that a specific fee had already been attached to Asare, stating that such claims were not based on any decision made by the club.
The goalkeeper’s future is expected to be reviewed by Asare and his management team, who will assess any opportunities that emerge before deciding on the next stage of his career.
Asare’s rise has been one of the notable stories surrounding Ghana’s participation at the World Cup, where his performances helped strengthen his reputation on the international stage.
The attention surrounding the goalkeeper has now placed him among the players attracting interest after the tournament, but Hearts of Oak have insisted that any decision regarding a potential transfer will be handled through official channels.
For now, the club maintains that no valuation has been determined and that reports suggesting otherwise do not reflect its position.
With interest in Asare continuing to grow, the coming weeks are likely to bring further discussions about his future, but Hearts of Oak have made clear that any potential move must follow a formal process and serve the interests of all parties involved.
