Morocco and France midfielder Bilal Nadir, currently without a club after leaving Marseille, is being strongly linked with a move to Bundesliga side Hamburg.
The 22-year-old central midfielder became a free agent on 1 July 2026 following his departure from the Ligue 1 club and is viewed as a potential midfield addition for Hamburg, with the likelihood of a deal currently rated at 75%. Any move would come without a transfer fee, with negotiations expected to focus on salary and bonuses for a player whose market value was last set at €8m in June.
Born in Nice and left-footed, Nadir made the step up from Marseille’s B team to the first team in 2023 and went on to feature in France’s top flight as well as European competition. He has accumulated 40 Ligue 1 appearances, registering one goal and four assists, and also gained experience in the Coupe de France and both the Champions League and Europa League.
Nadir moved through the youth ranks at OGC Nice before joining Marseille’s reserve side in 2021, progressing to senior level over the following seasons. His versatility in central midfield and exposure to high-level competition in France are understood to be key factors in Hamburg’s interest as they look to strengthen for the Bundesliga campaign.
For now, Nadir remains unattached and free to negotiate with clubs, with his next contract set to be the first senior deal he signs outside Marseille.
