Tunisia-American forward Anisse Saidi, currently with Monterey Bay, has been linked with a move to Benfica B in Portugal’s Liga Portugal 2.
The 18-year-old centre-forward is under contract with San Diego, who loaned him to Monterey Bay on 16 June 2026. His loan spell is scheduled to end on 30 November, when he is due to return to the Major League Soccer club.
Saidi has made six appearances in the USL Championship this season, scoring once and starting 67% of Monterey Bay’s matches. He has also featured twice in MLS, providing one assist, as well as making two appearances in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
The reported interest from Benfica B would represent a move from the United States to Portugal for a player who holds both Tunisian and American nationality. Saidi is valued at €300,000.
He joined San Diego from the Philadelphia Union academy in January 2025, before moving to Monterey Bay on loan. His current campaign has included domestic league, cup and continental appearances, with 11 competitive outings across those competitions.
No transfer has been confirmed, and the available information does not indicate whether Benfica B or San Diego have reached an agreement. For now, Saidi remains a Monterey Bay player on loan, with his temporary stay set to conclude at the end of November.
