Sacha Boey made his first appearance of the season for Bayern Munich as a late substitute in their 6-1 Bundesliga victory over RB Leipzig.
The 26-year-old defender came on in the 77th minute after Kim Min-jae reported discomfort, giving Boey an opportunity in a match Bayern won convincingly.
Boey had been expected to leave Bayern during the summer. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Galatasaray, but the Turkish club decided not to activate its €15m option to buy him permanently.
The appearance against RB Leipzig was only Boey’s second inclusion in a Bayern Bundesliga matchday squad since Vincent Kompany became manager.
Despite featuring in the emphatic win, Bayern continue to plan for Boey’s departure during the winter transfer window. The club are likely to accept a significant financial loss on the defender, whose contract runs until 2028.
