Bayern, Chelsea and PSG circle Sporting star Diomande

Ousmane Diomande could become one of the most sought-after African players of the summer transfer window as several of Europe’s biggest clubs continue to monitor the Sporting CP defender.

The 22-year-old Ivory Coast international has attracted growing attention following another impressive season in Portugal, where his performances have strengthened his reputation as one of Europe’s most promising young central defenders.

According to reports from insider Flávio Costa, Chelsea FC, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are all showing concrete interest ahead of the summer transfer market.

The three clubs are reportedly looking to reinforce their defensive departments and view Diomande as a long-term solution.

Chelsea are believed to be seeking greater defensive stability after an inconsistent campaign, while Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing for the possible departure of Brazilian defender Marquinhos.

German champions Bayern Munich are also understood to be eager to strengthen their back line despite enjoying a strong domestic season.

The growing interest reflects Diomande’s rapid rise since establishing himself at Sporting Lisbon.

The Ivorian has been widely praised for his modern defensive qualities, including his composure on the ball, athleticism and ability to operate effectively in high-pressure situations.

Sporting are reportedly aware of the increasing demand for their defender but appear reluctant to sanction an easy departure.

The Portuguese club recently extended Diomande’s contract until June 2030, strengthening their negotiating position ahead of what could become a major transfer battle.

Reports suggest Sporting would only consider negotiations if offers approach 60 million euros.

That figure underlines both the club’s determination to retain one of its most valuable players and the growing market value of African defensive talent across European football.

Diomande’s strong displays this season have further boosted his profile.

He has featured in 30 matches in all competitions, contributing one goal and one assist while continuing to play a central role in Sporting’s defensive structure.

The defender is currently valued at around 45 million euros and reportedly earns an annual salary of 4.33 million euros.

Beyond the three leading contenders, several other clubs are also said to be monitoring the situation closely.

AC Milan, Newcastle United, Arsenal FC, Manchester United and Crystal Palace were all previously linked with the player during the winter transfer window and remain interested.

For Ivory Coast football, Diomande’s rise represents another example of the country’s growing influence in European football.

The centre-back has already established himself as one of the leading young defenders from the continent and is increasingly viewed as a future leader for the national team.

His development has also reinforced Sporting’s reputation for nurturing elite young talent before selling players to Europe’s wealthiest clubs.

Before any transfer decisions are made, however, Diomande’s immediate focus remains on helping Sporting conclude the season strongly.

The Portuguese side are preparing for the Portuguese Cup final against SCU Torreense, where another strong performance from the Ivorian could increase interest even further.

With multiple European heavyweights now involved, the coming months may prove decisive in shaping the next chapter of one of Africa’s most highly rated defenders.
