Barcelona can equal Real Madrid’s La Liga record with victory over Real Betis

Barcelona have made a perfect start to the season, winning their opening eight La Liga matches and claiming two victories in the Champions League.

That run has already seen the Catalan club match its own record for the best start to a La Liga campaign, first set in 2013. A win in their next league fixture would establish a new club record and also see Barcelona equal the all-time Spanish top-flight record.

That mark is held by Real Madrid, who won their first nine La Liga matches in succession during the 1968/69 season.

Barcelona’s next opportunity to match it comes against Real Betis in the next round of fixtures.
