Barcelona and Real Madrid monitoring Aston Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi

Aston Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi has attracted early interest from LaLiga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, just four months after moving to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old Switzerland international joined Villa from SC Freiburg for €60M in July and agreed a contract at Villa Park running until June 2031.

Manzambi has made an immediate impression in England, adapting to the demands of the Premier League as a box-to-box midfielder. He has scored three goals and provided two assists in all competitions since his summer transfer.

According to reports from Football Insider, interest from Spain remains at an initial stage. Manzambi is currently content at Aston Villa and working under manager Unai Emery, having turned down other offers after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are expected to continue monitoring his performances and could return for the player if Aston Villa do not qualify for the UEFA Champions League in 2027.

Manzambi’s estimated transfer value has also increased significantly since his arrival in England. It is now believed to be around £75M.
