Azaro snubs Egypt return, commits future to UAE stay

Walid Azaro has made his stance clear  there will be no return to Egypt, at least for now.

The Moroccan forward has reportedly turned down two offers from Egyptian Premier League clubs, choosing instead to continue his career in the United Arab Emirates with Ajman Club.

At a time when speculation around his future was beginning to build ahead of the summer transfer window, Azaro’s decision brings clarity — and perhaps a touch of surprise.

No Cairo Comeback

For many, the links to Egypt felt natural.

Azaro is not just another foreign striker in the league — he is a proven name. During his time with Al Ahly SC, he built a reputation as one of the most reliable forwards in the competition, delivering goals and playing a key role in the club’s domestic and continental campaigns.

A return would have made sense.

Familiar environment. Proven success. Strong connection with fans.

But this time, the answer is no.

UAE Stability Wins

Instead, Azaro is prioritising stability.

Reports indicate that the striker is fully committed to life at Ajman, where he has found consistency both on and off the pitch. The club, for their part, are equally determined to keep him, viewing him as a central figure in their plans going forward.

In a football world often driven by constant movement, Azaro’s choice reflects a different approach — one focused on continuity rather than change.

And in the Gulf, that continuity often translates into performance.

A Calculated Decision

This is not just about rejecting offers.

It is about timing.

At this stage of his career, Azaro appears to be choosing an environment where he is valued, settled, and guaranteed a defined role. Moving back to Egypt, despite its competitive appeal, would come with pressure, expectation, and the need to immediately deliver at a high level.

At Ajman, he already has that trust.

That matters.

What This Means

For Egyptian clubs, it is a missed opportunity to bring back a striker with a proven track record.

For Ajman, it is a statement of intent  holding onto one of their key attacking assets as they prepare for the next season.

And for Azaro, it is a clear message:

He is not chasing nostalgia.

He is choosing stability.

Final Thought

In modern football, not every big decision is about the biggest name or the loudest move.

Sometimes, it is about the right fit.

And right now, for Walid Azaro, that fit remains in the UAE.
