Senegalese teenage striker Abdou Salam Sèye appears set for a major step in his career after attracting interest from clubs across Europe following an impressive breakthrough season at Be Sport Academy.
The 17-year-old forward, who recently completed trials with French side Lille and Spanish club Valencia CF, is now also being monitored by Austrian champions LASK Linz.
The interest from three clubs in different European leagues underlines the growing reputation of one of Senegal’s most promising young attacking talents.
Sèye’s rapid rise has become another example of Senegal’s flourishing football development system, which continues to produce young players capable of drawing attention from some of Europe’s competitive leagues.
With 15 goals and four assists in just 19 matches this season, the striker has emerged as one of the standout performers at academy level.
A source quoted by Africafoot said the player’s trials in Europe had gone well and suggested that discussions regarding his future are now progressing behind the scenes.
“He (Abdou Salam Sèye) had trials in Europe and they went well at both clubs, Lille and Valencia. He’s supposed to return to Senegal today (Monday, May 18, 2026). His agent is handling the rest… He’s even being courted by LASK in Austria.”
The report comes after LASK completed a historic domestic double in Austria, winning both the league and cup titles this season.
The club is now reportedly considering adding the Senegalese teenager to its long-term project as it prepares for another campaign at the top of Austrian football.
For Sèye, the interest marks a potentially life-changing moment. The striker is expected to celebrate his 18th birthday next month and could soon sign the first professional contract of his career.
His performances at Be Sport Academy have attracted attention because of more than just his goalscoring record.
The young forward has been described as a modern striker with a strong combination of physical strength, technical quality and mentality, attributes that have increasingly become essential for forwards aiming to succeed in European football.
The possibility of joining Lille may appeal because of the French club’s reputation for developing African talent, while Valencia would offer the chance to test himself in Spanish football.
Meanwhile, LASK could provide a quicker pathway to senior football after their successful domestic season.
Although no agreement has yet been confirmed, indications suggest the teenager is nearing a defining decision about his future.
Whether his next destination is France, Spain or Austria, Abdou Salam Sèye now appears firmly on the radar of European football.
