Amine Gouiri: Marseille’s Algeria-France Forward Linked with Napoli Move

Amine Gouiri, the Algeria-France centre-forward currently at Marseille, is being linked with a summer move to Serie A side Napoli as the Italian club explore attacking reinforcements. Initial discussions are understood to centre around a valuation in the region of Gouiri’s current €28 million market value, with Napoli monitoring whether Marseille would be prepared to negotiate for a player tied to a long-term deal.

Gouiri, 26, is under contract at Marseille until 30 June 2029, a situation that places the French club in a strong position should formal talks advance. Any agreement is therefore likely to require a substantial fee, with Marseille not under pressure to sell and able to insist on terms that reflect both his age and contractual security.

The centre-forward has established himself as part of Marseille’s attacking set-up in Ligue 1, and his profile has prompted interest from abroad as clubs look for forwards in their peak years. Napoli, operating in Serie A and assessing options for their front line, are believed to view the Algerian international as a potential fit for their long-term planning rather than a short-term fix.

For now, Gouiri remains a Marseille player preparing for the new campaign, with his contract running for another three years beyond this season. Any transfer would require Napoli to test Marseille’s resolve and demonstrate a willingness to meet the financial demands attached to a forward of his status and remaining contract length.
