Al Qadsiah capitalise on Al Riyadh goalkeeping error to extend lead

Al Qadsiah were gifted a second goal against Al Riyadh after a defensive error handed Julian Quinones and Abdullah Al-Salem a clear opportunity in the Roshn Saudi League.

The mistake came in the 36th minute, with Al Qadsiah already leading 1-0. An Al Riyadh defender attempted to play the ball back to goalkeeper Milan Borjan, but the pass was both underhit and difficult to control.

Colombia forward Quinones reacted quickest, anticipating the danger before Borjan could reach the ball. He won possession inside the penalty area and immediately looked up for a team-mate.

Rather than attempt to finish himself, Quinones picked out Al-Salem, who was in a better position in front of an unguarded goal. The forward then calmly placed the ball into the net to make it 2-0.

Al-Salem was enjoying an impressive run of form, having scored twice in his previous match, and he added another goal after making the most of the opportunity presented to him.

He celebrated by making his trademark “calm” gesture as Al Qadsiah strengthened their position in the match.
