Al Ittihad Alexandria appoint Miloud Hamdi as head coach until end of season

Al Ittihad Alexandria have officially announced the appointment of Miloud Hamdi as the club’s new head coach, replacing Tamer Mustafa in a move aimed at stabilizing the team before the end of the current campaign.

The deal will run until the conclusion of the season, with an option to extend for an additional year subject to mutual agreement between both parties.

Arab and African pedigree leads rescue mission

The decision, approved unanimously by the club’s board led by Mohamed Salama, reflects confidence in Hamdi’s extensive experience across African and Arab football.

Hamdi is no stranger to Egyptian football, having previously managed Ismaily SC, giving him valuable insight into the demands of the domestic league. His résumé also includes spells with USM Alger, RS Berkane, and Young Africans SC.

Notably, he guided Young Africans to a domestic league and cup double in 2015 and reached the CAF Champions League final in 2016—credentials that convinced the Alexandria club he is the right man to lead their turnaround.

Technical team confirmed, stability maintained

In coordination with general supervisor Abdel Zaher El-Saqqa, the club also confirmed the composition of Hamdi’s backroom staff.

Ayman Abdel Aziz has been appointed general coach, while Tunisian Ayman Habibi will serve as assistant coach and fitness trainer. Osama Abdel Karim completes the technical setup as goalkeeping coach.

To ensure continuity, the club has opted to retain its existing administrative and medical teams until the end of the season—an approach designed to maintain internal stability during the transition.

Immediate focus on ZED clash

Hamdi is set to begin work immediately, taking charge of his first training session on Saturday at the club’s stadium. Attention quickly shifts to a crucial upcoming fixture against ZED FC scheduled for Tuesday.

With pressure mounting and expectations high, the new coach faces a race against time to implement his ideas, correct technical deficiencies, and restore confidence among supporters.

For Al Ittihad Alexandria, this marks the beginning of what they hope will be a decisive turnaround under the guidance of an experienced “Algerian expert
