Adil Boulbina dreams of making Algeria proud at 2026 World cup

Adil Boulbina says he is determined to make Algerian supporters proud if he earns a place in the national team squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after completing what he described as a challenging first season with Al Duhail SC.

The Algerian winger reflected on his debut campaign in Qatar during an interview with WinWin, where he discussed the club’s inconsistent performances, his personal adaptation to football outside Algeria and his ambitions with the national team ahead of next year’s tournament.

Boulbina acknowledged that Al Duhail endured a difficult season marked by fluctuating results across competitions.

“Our season was difficult because we did not achieve consistent positive results. The team suffered from some inconsistency, but it was not a total failure either,” he said.

Despite the setbacks, the winger believes the experience will help both himself and the club improve moving forward.

“We played some great matches this season, whether in the AFC Elite Champions League or the Qatari league. We will work harder to show a better side next season.”

The move to Qatar represented the first time Boulbina had played professionally outside Algeria, and he admitted the transition required significant adjustment.

The winger explained that adapting to a new football culture and environment came with challenges, although he remains satisfied with the progress he has made during his first year abroad.

“This is my first professional experience outside of Algeria. I tried to give my best for the team, even though I feel I could have contributed even more. With hard work, the future will be brighter, God willing.”

Attention is now increasingly shifting toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Algeria hope to establish themselves among the tournament’s strongest African representatives.

For Boulbina, participating on football’s biggest stage remains one of his major career objectives.

“We need to prepare well for the tournament. If I receive a call-up, I will do everything to make Algerians happy.”

The winger also expressed confidence in Algeria’s ability to compete against elite international opposition despite the challenges expected at the tournament.

“We have difficult matches in the World Cup, but we also have a solid team, capable of competing with these great nations. I hope that we will live up to the expectations of the Algerian people.”

Boulbina’s comments reflect growing optimism within Algerian football as preparations continue for the expanded World Cup competition in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The national team will be hoping to combine experienced internationals with emerging players capable of adding energy and attacking quality to the squad.

For Boulbina personally, the coming months could prove decisive as he attempts to strengthen his position within the national team picture.

His performances in Qatar have provided valuable exposure and experience, while his willingness to adapt abroad has also highlighted his ambition to continue developing at a higher level.

As Algeria continue building toward the 2026 World Cup, the winger now hopes his progress at club level can eventually translate into an opportunity to represent his country on the global stage.
