Bournemouth end winless start as Tottenham remain without Premier League victory

AFC Bournemouth secured their first Premier League win of the season by beating Sunderland 2-0 at home in the seventh round of fixtures.

Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson scored the goals as AFC Bournemouth ended a run of six league matches without victory and claimed all three points.

The result extended Sunderland’s difficult return to the Premier League, with the club suffering a fourth successive defeat. It is their longest losing run in the competition since December 2015.

Sunderland have taken four points from their opening seven matches, recording one win, one draw and five defeats. They sit 19th in the Premier League table.

AFC Bournemouth’s victory means Tottenham Hotspur are now the only team in the division yet to win this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have played six league matches, drawing three and losing three. They have three points and remain at the bottom of the table ahead of their match in the current round.
