Kylian Mbappe moves ahead of Lamine Yamal in La Liga scoring race

Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Real Madrid beat Sevilla 4-1 in La Liga on Sunday, moving the France forward above Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal in the competition’s scoring standings.

Mbappe opened the scoring in the 37th minute before converting a penalty 26 minutes after half-time to complete his double.

The two goals took Mbappe’s league total for the campaign to nine. He has now overtaken Yamal, who has scored eight times, while Barcelona’s Raphinha Dias remains top of the standings with 12 goals.

Real Madrid, managed by Jose Mourinho, will face Barcelona in the next round of the competition.

The latest edition of El Clasico will be played at Camp Nou on 25 October, with kick-off scheduled for 23:00 Moscow time.
