England continued their perfect start under Thomas Tuchel with a third successive victory, completing a 12-0 aggregate scoreline after comprehensive wins over Croatia and the Czech Republic, whom they have now beaten twice.
Harry Kane was again central to the result, scoring twice and setting two new England records relating to appearances and goals. Jude Bellingham also impressed, although the Real Madrid midfielder appeared to tire towards the end of the match.
England’s attacking midfielders ensured the team remained a threat even without Bellingham at his best. New additions from Manchester City and Chelsea also played important roles as the Three Lions secured another emphatic win.
Euro-football.ru assessed Tuchel’s players on a subjective 10-point scale. These were the three highest-rated performers against the Czech Republic.
Elliot Anderson – 8.0
Elliot Anderson is becoming increasingly comfortable in Tuchel’s England side, earning comparisons with Barcelona and Spain midfielder Pedri. He controlled the tempo, moved intelligently and showed particular quality with his passing.
Anderson produced the outstanding delivery that cut through the Czech Republic defence and created England’s second goal. He completed 46 of his 48 passes, won five of six challenges and made two interceptions.
Morgan Rogers – 8.0
Morgan Rogers had an increasing influence on the match and, on this occasion, even outshone a tiring Bellingham. With Bellingham less prominent, Rogers took on a similar creative responsibility and repeatedly delivered important passes in the final third.
He supplied four key passes, completed three successful dribbles and won three set-piece opportunities. Rogers also created two dangerous chances, with Kane converting one of them expertly.
Harry Kane – 9.5
Kane’s contribution once again covered almost every aspect of an elite striker’s performance. He sent in the ball for England’s opening goal, which was ultimately recorded as an own goal, before scoring the next two himself.
Those strikes took his England tally to 90 and then 91 goals. Kane was outstanding in front of goal, posed a threat at every height and consistently found space with his movement.
He repeatedly exposed weaknesses in the Czech Republic defence and helped secure another commanding victory for the Three Lions. Kane also struck the crossbar and created two key opportunities for his team-mates.
