Schalke 04 target Cameroon midfielder Junior Dina Ebimbe in summer transfer move

Newly promoted Bundesliga side Schalke 04 are reportedly interested in signing Cameroon international Junior Dina Ebimbe as they continue their efforts to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

The 25-year-old midfielder has emerged as a potential target following his recent loan spell with French Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois 29. His displays have caught the attention of Schalke, who are looking to add experience and quality as they prepare for their return to Germany’s top flight.

According to reports from football journalist Florian Plettenberg, Schalke have identified Dina Ebimbe as a suitable option to improve their midfield department. However, no official negotiations have begun between the clubs, and Eintracht Frankfurt are yet to receive a formal offer.

Frankfurt are reportedly willing to allow the Cameroonian to leave but have placed a valuation of around €3 million on the player. Schalke, meanwhile, are aiming to negotiate a lower transfer fee and are currently considering an offer in the region of €1 million.

The difference in valuation could complicate any potential deal, although Schalke remain interested in finding a compromise as they seek affordable reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

Dina Ebimbe brings valuable experience from both the Bundesliga and Ligue 1, having previously represented Paris Saint-Germain, Eintracht Frankfurt and Brest. His versatility allows him to operate in several midfield positions, while his physical strength, energy and ability to contribute in both defensive and attacking phases make him an appealing option.

For Schalke, securing the services of the Cameroon international would be another important step in building a competitive squad capable of surviving and progressing in the Bundesliga after achieving promotion.

While talks have not yet reached an advanced stage, Dina Ebimbe’s situation is expected to remain one to monitor closely as the transfer window unfolds.
