Ahmed Yasser Rayyan has been crowned the top scorer of the 2025-26 Egyptian Premier League season after finishing the campaign with 13 goals for National Bank.
The Egyptian league season concluded following the 13th round of matches in the relegation play-off stage, bringing an end to a closely contested race for the Golden Boot.
Rayyan secured first place after a season-long battle with Ali Suleiman of Ismailia Electricity, who ended the campaign with 12 goals.
The decisive moment came when Rayyan scored the equaliser for National Bank against Al Ittihad Alexandria, allowing him to move clear at the top of the scoring standings.
The achievement also marked a milestone for National Bank, with Rayyan becoming the first player in the club’s history to win the Egyptian Premier League top scorer award.
Strong finish secures scoring title
The 28-year-old forward produced a much stronger second half of the season to overtake his competitors.
During the opening phase of the campaign, Rayyan scored five goals in 15 matches. However, his form improved significantly during the second stage of the season, where he added eight goals in 13 appearances.
That late surge proved enough to separate him from the chasing pack in one of the tightest scoring races in recent Egyptian league history.
Rayyan’s overall tally of 13 goals came in 28 league appearances, underlining his importance to National Bank throughout the season.
His performances also continued a steady scoring record built across several Egyptian clubs during his professional career.
According to league statistics, Rayyan has now scored 62 goals in 173 Egyptian Premier League matches while playing for Al Ahly, Enppi, Ceramica Cleopatra and National Bank.
Close competition among league forwards
Ali Suleiman finished second in the standings after scoring 12 goals in 31 matches for Ismailia Electricity.
Third place went to Mahmoud Trezeguet of Al Ahly, who scored 11 goals in just 21 appearances during the season.
Uday Al-Dabbagh of Zamalek ended the campaign in fourth place with 10 goals in 24 matches.
Rayyan’s National Bank teammate Osama Faisal also scored 10 goals across 31 appearances, placing him alongside Al-Dabbagh among the league’s leading scorers.
The final standings reflected a competitive season in Egyptian football, with the race for the Golden Boot remaining open until the closing stages of the campaign.
For Rayyan, the award represents one of the most significant achievements of his career so far and further strengthens his reputation as one of the league’s most consistent attacking players.
His decisive goal against Al Ittihad Alexandria ultimately proved the defining moment in the battle for the scoring crown, ensuring his name entered the history books as National Bank’s first-ever Egyptian Premier League top scorer.
