Zizo suffers minor muscle strain after Barcelona clash

Ahmed Sayed Zizo has suffered a minor muscle strain after scoring Al Ahly’s only goal in their 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Cup at Spotify Camp Nou.

The Al Ahly forward underwent medical examinations following the match, with tests confirming that the injury is not serious.

Zizo’s condition will be monitored ahead of Al Ahly’s Egyptian League opener against El Sharqia Enppi on Sunday at Al Salam Stadium.

The Egyptian international scored Al Ahly’s goal against Barcelona with a powerful finish after receiving a pass from Munsif Bakar.

Despite Zizo’s effort, Barcelona secured a 2-1 victory, with Hamza Abdelkarim and Rafinha Diaz scoring for the Spanish side.

Al Ahly will now assess Zizo’s fitness before deciding whether he can feature against El Sharqia Enppi.

The initial diagnosis provides some encouragement, with the injury described as minor, but the club will continue monitoring his recovery before the league opener.
