Ziad Farag leaves El Masry after Egyptian League Cup triumph

Egyptian attacking midfielder Ziad Farag has left El Masry and is now without a club, completing his departure from the Egyptian Premier League side on 1 August 2026.

The 24-year-old played 54 Premier League matches during his career, registering one assist, and also appeared in the CAF Confederation Cup, Egypt Cup, Egyptian League Cup and Championship Playoff. His most recent campaign ended with Farag helping El Masry win the Egyptian League Cup in the 2025-26 season.

Farag operates primarily as an attacking midfielder and is right-footed. His record in the Egyptian League Cup includes one goal, scored across four appearances. He also made five appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup and five in the Egypt Cup, while featuring once in the Championship Playoff.

The midfielder came through El Masry’s system, moving from the club’s under-21 side into senior football in July 2019. He later spent time away from the club on loan, joining El Mokawloon in August 2023 before returning to El Masry in August 2024.

Farag then moved temporarily to Petrojet in September 2024, returning to El Masry at the end of that loan in June 2025. His latest spell with the club continued through the 2025-26 campaign, during which El Masry lifted the Egyptian League Cup.

His market value was recorded at €25,000 at the time of his departure, while his highest recorded valuation was €150,000. Farag’s exit brings an end to his latest period with El Masry after more than a decade connected with the club, including his time in the youth ranks.

Farag is now a free agent following his completed departure from El Masry.
