Cameroon midfielder Franck Zambo Anguissa has been included in Napoli’s 23-player squad for the 2026-27 Champions League, making him the only player of African sporting nationality named on the Italian club’s list.
Napoli have submitted their squad to UEFA ahead of the new European campaign, with Zambo Anguissa retained as one of the club’s midfield options.
The Cameroon international will continue his European journey with Napoli as the Italian side prepares for a Champions League campaign featuring 36 clubs in the league stage.
Zambo Anguissa is joined in the squad by a number of established players, as well as several additions made during the summer transfer window.
Among the most prominent names is Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne, who arrived at Napoli this summer.
Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay, captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, midfielder Stanislav Lobotka and Brazilian winger David Neres are also part of the group submitted to UEFA.
Napoli have also included several new signings in their Champions League squad.
French defender Benoît Badiashile, Dutch defender Sam Beukema and Danish striker Rasmus Højlund are among the new arrivals selected for the European campaign.
The squad is completed by three goalkeepers: Nikita Contini, Alex Meret and Vanja Milinković-Savić.
In defence, Napoli have selected Badiashile, Beukema, Rafa Marín, Amir Rrahmani, Mathías Olivera and Leonardo Spinazzola.
The midfield and attacking options include Zambo Anguissa, De Bruyne, McTominay, Lobotka, Di Lorenzo, Gilmour, Politano, Neres, Højlund, Noa Lang and Lorenzo Lucca, alongside Alisson Santos, Costantino Favasuli and Antonio Vergara.
Three players, however, have been left out of the 23-man list.
Alessandro Buongiorno, Luca Marianucci and Giovane are not included in Napoli’s squad for the Champions League group stage.
For Zambo Anguissa, his inclusion provides another opportunity to compete on Europe’s biggest club stage with Napoli.
The Cameroonian is expected to remain part of the club’s midfield options as Napoli begin their latest attempt to progress through European competition.
The Italian side will face eight different opponents during the league stage under the new 36-team format.
