Zamalek board member Ahmed Suleiman has moved to reassure supporters amid speculation over the club’s newly established football company, insisting that the Egyptian giants will remain under the stewardship of their members and fans.
Recent reports had suggested that investors could acquire a controlling stake in the football company approved by the board of directors, led by president Hussein Labib.
Message to supporters
In a statement posted on his official Facebook account, Suleiman dismissed concerns over the club’s future ownership.
“I said it before and I repeat it today in a loud voice: Zamalek will remain great through its sons, its great fans, its members, its loyal men and its symbols.”
He also expressed support for those committed to protecting the club’s identity.
“Full support to everyone who stands united in defence of the club’s history and in preserving its future without any personal purpose or benefit, because Zamalek has always belonged, and will always belong, to its fans and members.”
Focus on the new season
Suleiman’s comments come as Zamalek continues preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
The club recently confirmed that it had resolved its outstanding external disputes and secured the necessary CAF club licence, ensuring its participation in next season’s CAF Champions League.
The licence represents another important step for the Cairo giants as they seek to strengthen both their financial position and sporting ambitions ahead of the new season.
