Youssouf Fofana: Galatasaray linked with AC Milan midfielder

Youssouf Fofana, the French-Malian midfielder at AC Milan, is being linked with a move to Galatasaray.

The 27-year-old defensive midfielder is the subject of a rumour connecting him with a switch from Serie A to the Turkish Super Lig. The likelihood of the move is listed at 52%, although there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed.

Fofana has not played in either of AC Milan’s two possible Serie A matches at the start of the 2026-27 season, with no appearances, goals or assists recorded so far.

He joined Milan from Monaco on 17 August 2024 in a deal worth €26m. Fofana’s contract with the Italian club runs until 30 June 2028, meaning Milan are under no immediate pressure to release him.

Fofana won the Italian Super Cup with Milan in the 2024-25 season, having previously spent four seasons at Monaco after beginning his senior career with Strasbourg. He also featured for France at the 2022 World Cup, where they finished runners-up.

His current market value is assessed at €23m, below the fee Milan paid to sign him from Monaco. For now, Fofana remains an AC Milan player, with three years left on his contract.
