Algerian-French centre-forward Yanis Guermouche has joined FC Wacker from Slavia Sofia, completing a move to the Austrian 2. Liga club on 2 September 2026.
The 25-year-old striker will remain under contract with FC Wacker until 30 June 2028. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.
Guermouche arrives in Austria after a short spell with Slavia Sofia, where he made four appearances in the opening part of the 2026-27 efbet Liga season. He played 26 minutes in total and did not score before switching clubs.
Standing at 1.92m and favouring his right foot, Guermouche plays as a centre-forward. His move to FC Wacker gives the club a new attacking option as it competes in Austria’s second tier.
The striker joined Slavia Sofia from fellow Bulgarian club Hebar on a free transfer on 1 July 2025. He had previously moved between several clubs in Bulgaria and France, including Krumovgrad, Iraklis, Montpellier and LB Chateauroux.
Guermouche began his senior career with Montpellier after progressing from the club’s under-19 side to its reserve team. He spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at LB Chateauroux before returning to Montpellier, then left France for Iraklis in January 2024.
After joining Krumovgrad in August 2024, he moved to Hebar in January 2025, again without a transfer fee, before making the switch to Slavia Sofia later that year. His latest change of club takes him from the Bulgarian top flight to FC Wacker’s campaign in the 2. Liga.
Born in Neuilly-sur-Seine on 15 April 2001, Guermouche holds Algerian and French nationality. He now continues his career with FC Wacker, with his contract running until the end of June 2028.
