Yan Diomande leads Europe’s top leagues for successful dribbles

Yan Diomande has emerged as the most effective dribbler in Europe’s five major leagues this season, with a success rate of 70%, according to statistics published by PopFoot.

The young Ivorian forward tops a list featuring several of the biggest names in world football. His ability to beat opponents with the ball at his feet has made him one of the standout performers in one-on-one situations.

Desire Doue is second in the ranking, having completed 67% of his dribbles, while Egypt international Omar Marmoush occupies third place on 66%.

The figures underline Diomande’s technical quality and his effectiveness when directly confronting defenders. Rather than simply attempting a high number of dribbles, he has converted those situations into successful actions more consistently than any of the other players included in the comparison.

Kylian Mbappe is further down the list with a success rate of 58%. He is followed by Georgia international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on 57% and England midfielder Jude Bellingham on 55%.

Senegal international Assane Dia records a 54% success rate, while Lamine Yamal completes the ranking on 49%, despite his reputation for taking on defenders and driving forward with the ball.

Diomande’s position at the top highlights the importance of his play in one-on-one situations. A successful dribble can create space, force a defence to adjust and open opportunities for teammates, making the skill an important part of attacking football.

With 70% of his attempted dribbles succeeding, Diomande has established himself as one of the leading young players to watch across the five major European leagues. His performances have increased attention on his potential and on the talent emerging from Cote d’Ivoire.
