Wilfried Singo set to stay at Galatasaray despite Damac FC interest

Wilfried Singo has no intention of leaving Galatasaray this summer, despite interest from Saudi Pro League club Damac FC.

The 25-year-old Cote d’Ivoire international wants to continue his career in Istanbul and remain with the Turkish champions, according to information from 225foot. Singo joined Galatasaray a year ago and is keen to build on his progress in the Super Lig rather than consider a move to Saudi Arabia.

Damac FC recently contacted Galatasaray about a possible transfer for the defender. However, the proposal did not meet the Turkish club’s demands, with Galatasaray seeking a substantially higher fee before considering selling Singo.

The player’s contract runs until June 2030, strengthening Galatasaray’s position in any negotiations. The long-term agreement means the club is under no immediate pressure to accept an offer and can set its own valuation for the defender.

Singo’s position is also understood to be clear. While the Saudi interest has created movement around his future, neither Damac FC’s approach nor the prospect of playing in the Saudi Pro League has persuaded him to change his plans.

He is valued at 23m euros by Transfermarkt, underlining his importance and continued market value. However, Singo intends to establish himself at Galatasaray over the long term and is not currently planning a departure.

The defender earns 8,000,000 euros a year in Turkey, equivalent to 5,200,000,000 CFA francs. His salary forms part of the financial circumstances surrounding his future, but there is no indication that it has prompted him to seek a transfer.

Galatasaray will soon play their third Turkish league match of the season against Goztepe. The fixture will provide another opportunity for Singo to continue his development with the Istanbul club, assuming he remains part of the team’s plans.

The betting company 1xbet has listed Galatasaray as favourites for the match, with the club priced at 1.35 to win. A draw is listed at 4.30, while Goztepe are priced at 6.10.

For now, the focus remains on Singo’s desire to stay in Turkey. With four years still remaining on his contract, a high valuation from Galatasaray and no wish from the player to leave, Damac FC face a difficult task if they are to revive their interest.
