French-Guinea-Bissau midfielder Batista Mendy is being linked with a move from Trabzonspor to Werder Bremen, with the Bundesliga club monitoring the 26-year-old defensive midfielder.
Mendy is under contract with Trabzonspor until 30 June 2027, meaning any move would require an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer. His market value is listed at €7.5m.
The 1.91m right-footed midfielder returned to Trabzonspor at the end of the 2025-26 season after spending the campaign on loan at Sevilla. That loan included a €250,000 fee, while Trabzonspor signed him from Angers in September 2023 for €4.4m.
Mendy has made 65 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig, scoring twice and providing two assists. He also recorded 71 Ligue 1 appearances during his time in France, where he played for Nantes and Angers.
His career has included experience in Spain, France and Turkey, while Trabzonspor remain his current club as interest from Werder Bremen develops. The potential move would take him to Germany’s top flight, but there has been no confirmation of an agreement or formal transfer.
