Omar Marmoush has set his sights on further success with Manchester City after securing his first piece of silverware with the club, describing the achievement as an important milestone in his career.
The Egyptian forward played his part as City lifted the English League Cup, marking his first title since joining the Premier League side. Speaking after the victory, Marmoush highlighted both the significance of the moment and the team’s growing confidence.
“It’s a great feeling to win your first title with a big club like Manchester City.”
He added that the triumph could serve as a foundation for further success this season.
“Winning the League Cup title makes us confident that we are on the right track, and now the team is better and stronger.”
Focus shifts to Premier League challenge
Despite the recent success, attention has quickly turned to domestic league ambitions, with City continuing their pursuit of the Premier League title. Marmoush identified an upcoming clash with Arsenal as a crucial fixture in shaping their chances.
“The Arsenal game in the league will be completely different from the League Cup final, and we aim to play strongly in all our remaining league matches in order to achieve victory.”
He made clear the importance of securing a positive result in that encounter.
“We must beat Arsenal to have a chance of winning the league title.”
Marmoush also underlined the squad’s belief in its ability to compete for honours, even during periods of inconsistency.
“We always have the feeling that we can win any title we have a chance at, even if the team goes through a period of declining results.”
International ambitions remain strong
Beyond club football, Marmoush spoke about his aspirations with the Egypt national football team, particularly the prospect of competing on the global stage.
“Participating in the World Cup with the Egyptian national team is a very big deal for me. We will go to the World Cup to compete strongly, but we must be realistic because we will be playing against very strong teams, and our first goal is to get past the group stage and then raise Egypt’s name in the tournament.”
His comments reflect both ambition and pragmatism, as he acknowledged the challenges of facing elite international opposition.
Life in Europe and ties to home
While adapting to life in Europe, Marmoush admitted that he continues to miss aspects of home, including familiar surroundings and family connections.
“Living in Europe makes me miss Egyptian food, the Egyptian atmosphere, and also my family, and I am waiting for any opportunity to get a vacation to spend in Egypt.”
Despite his new environment, he maintains a strong connection to his roots in everyday life.
“The most important thing you will find in my home in England is Egyptian tea.”
Building momentum for the season ahead
Marmoush’s reflections come at a pivotal stage of the campaign, with Manchester City aiming to convert their cup success into sustained league performance. His emphasis on belief, consistency and focus highlights the mindset within the squad as they approach the final stretch of the season.
Balancing ambition with identity
As Marmoush looks ahead to further challenges, both domestically and internationally, his outlook combines competitive ambition with a strong sense of personal identity. While trophies and titles remain the priority on the pitch, his connection to Egypt continues to shape his journey abroad, underscoring the balance between professional success and cultural roots.
