Vozinha, the Cape Verde goalkeeper, is close to reaching an agreement with Moroccan club RS Berkane after unexpectedly changing his plans following his recent move to Chilean side Colo-Colo.
The 40-year-old had joined Colo-Colo in recent days, but his expected move to the Chilean club has since been thrown into doubt. He postponed his arrival in Chile for a third time, leaving uncertainty over whether the transfer would be completed.
According to Globo Esporte, Vozinha is now negotiating the final details of a potential move to RS Berkane. The report, attributed to journalist Rafael Bozio, says the goalkeeper is discussing the terms of a contract to play for the Moroccan club.
Colo-Colo had already announced the signing of Vozinha on its social media accounts. The Chilean club published a photograph of the goalkeeper alongside the message: “Welcome, we are waiting for you at the Monumental Stadium.”
However, Vozinha’s repeated delays in travelling to Chile have cast doubt on the agreement. His arrival was postponed for the third time in recent days, with no resolution announced over whether he would eventually join Colo-Colo.
The latest expectation is that Vozinha will travel to Morocco instead, where he is due to complete a move to RS Berkane. The transfer would represent a sudden change of direction for a goalkeeper who had only recently been announced by the Chilean club.
RS Berkane are also in advanced negotiations with Cape Verde manager Bubista. The coach led Cape Verde at the World Cup, and the Moroccan club are working to complete an agreement with him.
Once Bubista’s appointment has been finalised, RS Berkane are expected to make a formal offer to Vozinha. That proposal will be central to the goalkeeper’s decision over his next move.
Bozio reports that Vozinha is waiting for the official offer before making a final decision about his future. Until that bid is submitted, his move to RS Berkane remains at the negotiation stage, despite the expectation that he will head to Morocco.
The situation leaves Vozinha between two possible destinations after Colo-Colo’s announcement initially suggested that his next step had already been settled. The Chilean club’s public welcome indicated that the goalkeeper was expected at the Monumental Stadium, but the repeated delays to his arrival have opened the way for a possible move to the Moroccan league.
For now, RS Berkane are focused on completing discussions with both the goalkeeper and Bubista. Vozinha’s final decision is expected after he receives the club’s formal proposal.
