Vozinha, 40, set for Colo-Colo move after verbal agreement

Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha is poised to join Chilean giants Colo-Colo on an 18-month deal after reaching a verbal agreement with the club.

The transfer is expected to be completed once the final administrative details are settled, with only paperwork and a medical still outstanding before the move is made official.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the signing of documents is scheduled to take place over the weekend. Once that stage is completed, the 40-year-old will travel to Chile to undergo his medical tests, the final step required before Colo-Colo can confirm his arrival.

If there are no late complications, the experienced international is set to sign a contract running for a year and a half, adding veteran depth and leadership in goal for the Santiago-based club.

A new chapter after standout 2026 World Cup

Vozinha heads to South America on the back of an impressive 2026 World Cup campaign, where his performances underlined that he remains capable of operating at the highest level despite his age.

The Cape Verde international’s displays at the tournament reinforced his reputation as a reliable last line of defence and helped sustain interest in his services on the transfer market.

His market value is currently estimated at €500,000 by Transfermarkt, and the impending move to Colo-Colo represents a new challenge in a career already marked by longevity and consistency.

For Vozinha, the transfer will be a significant milestone, offering the chance to test himself in a new footballing environment while bringing his experience to one of South America’s most historic clubs.
