Valencia have reached an agreement for the sale of a 42% stake to Pitchwise Holdings, with the new investor set to inject €100m into the club.
The deal, announced in an official statement and reported by derbyderbyderby.it, was agreed between Meriton Holdings, Valencia’s majority shareholder, and Pitchwise Holdings. Its terms value the Spanish club at €1.25bn.
The agreement does not bring Peter Lim’s troubled ownership to an immediate end, but it is being viewed as the beginning of the end of his control.
Valencia are enduring one of the most difficult periods in their history after years of decline. The club’s latest season that matched its proud tradition was 2018/2019, when Marcelino led them to fourth place in La Liga.
That campaign also brought a major trophy, as Valencia defeated Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey.
