Uganda shock DR Congo to take half-time lead in Johannesburg friendly

Uganda lead DR Congo 1-0 at half-time in the first of two closed-door friendly matches between the sides at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The Cranes made the stronger start and took advantage of the first clear opportunity of the game in the seventh minute. Bogere beat the DR Congo defence to put Uganda ahead, catching the Leopards cold with a swift attack.

DR Congo struggled to find the accuracy needed in the final third as they attempted to recover from the early setback. Although the Leopards showed some reaction and worked to impose greater organisation on their play, they were unable to find an equaliser before the interval.

The technical staff now have 15 minutes to make the tactical adjustments required if DR Congo are to turn the match around in the second half.
