Uganda extend lead against DR Congo shortly after half-time

Uganda struck again early in the second half to move 2-0 ahead of the Democratic Republic of Congo in their friendly at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The Leopards had hoped to respond after a difficult first period, but their problems deepened almost immediately after the restart. In the 49th minute, a lack of defensive alignment allowed the Ugandan attack to exploit an opening in the Congolese defence.

The Cranes made no mistake, converting the chance with clinical efficiency to double their advantage and establish a clear lead.

With DR Congo now trailing 0-2, the team are under significant pressure in the remainder of the match. The technical staff will need to make swift adjustments if the Leopards are to recover and reduce the deficit before full-time.
