Tresoldi makes Club Brugge history with Champions League hat-trick

Benjamin Tresoldi became the first Club Brugge player to score a hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League as his side defeated Inter Milan 4-3 away from home in a group-stage match.

Opta confirmed that the Germany U21 forward’s three goals marked the first Champions League hat-trick by a player in Club Brugge’s history.

Tresoldi, who currently plays for the Germany U21 team, could also set another record if he chooses to represent the German senior national team in the future.

At 22 years and 54 days, he would become the youngest German player to score a Champions League hat-trick. That would surpass the existing record held by Adeyemi, who was 22 years and 257 days old when he achieved the feat.
