Tottenham have made Victor Osimhen their priority target for strengthening their attack, but Galatasaray will not consider selling the Nigeria international for less than about €75m.
The London club have already made enquiries about the possibility of signing the striker, according to information reported by CaughtOffside. Early estimates suggest Tottenham could be prepared to pursue a deal worth between €60m and €65m.
However, no formal offer has yet been submitted to Galatasaray and there have been no negotiations between the two clubs at this stage.
Tottenham have already completed several additions during the summer transfer window, but their directors want to bring in a world-class forward to further improve the attacking options available to the team. Their focus has now turned to Osimhen, who is currently contracted to Galatasaray.
The Turkish club are not willing to undervalue one of their most important players. Galatasaray’s hierarchy believe Osimhen is among the leading goalscorers in European football and want any transfer fee to reflect his status and importance to the side.
Osimhen’s current contract runs until June 2029, while his market value is estimated at approximately €75m. That figure is also the level Galatasaray are understood to be seeking, leaving Tottenham facing a potential gap between their initial valuation and the Turkish club’s demands.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a notable campaign with Galatasaray, scoring 22 goals and providing eight assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. Those numbers have continued to attract interest from leading European clubs, with Tottenham now appearing determined to explore the possibility of taking him to north London.
The Nigeria international is currently paid an annual salary of €18,750,000, equivalent to 12,187,500,000 CFA francs. His long-term contract and strong performances mean Galatasaray remain in a powerful position as Tottenham assess whether to make a formal approach.
For now, the London club’s interest has not progressed beyond initial enquiries. Any move will depend on whether Tottenham are prepared to meet Galatasaray’s €75m valuation, or whether the Turkish side can be persuaded to accept a lower fee.
The initial figures discussed have placed the potential transfer between €60m and €65m, but Galatasaray’s position is clear: their leading forward will not be sold cheaply. Tottenham’s pursuit of Osimhen is therefore likely to depend on the club’s willingness to increase its offer and match the conditions set by the Istanbul-based side.
